The Parish Council is supporting the Stay At Home Street Party! in commemoration of the VE Day 75th Anniversary Celebrations on Friday, 8 May 2020 and want to encourage as many Brocton residents as possible to join in. The Parish Council recognises the sacrifice our war veterans made and feel that together as a community, we can honour this sacrifice and the end of WW2.
Picnic to start from 12.30pm.
Parents – if you would like to decorate some bunting with your children, please visit the phone kiosks in the village (Sawpit Lane and the Village Green) and you will find some plastic wallets with blank flags for you and/or your children to colour in, decorate or collage which you can then attach to a piece of ribbon or string to create your own bunting. You could then display these in your windows or attach them to your fence panels, also, why not upload your finished creations to the FB page, to give inspiration to others to get involved.
The Parish Council will be decorating the village before the big day, with red, white and blue bunting and we hope this will encourage many of you to add your own decorations to your houses. Let’s brighten up our village together, why not join in, decorate your house or front garden and enjoy a picnic with you family. Wave to your neighbours, raise a toast (whether that’s a cup of tea or something stronger) and have a little fun in these challenging times.
Remember, that its important we all adhere to the Government Guidelines and follow the social distancing principles to ensure we Protect Our NHS and Save Lives.
