The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warning for strong winds as Storm Bronagh is expected to hit the county between 6pm this evening and 9am tomorrow.

Travel Advice – if travelling on Staffordshire roads this evening and overnight be aware of potential for high winds and rain which could make driving conditions difficult.  Motorists are being advised to take extra care, to drive to the conditions and to be aware that there could be surface flooding, fallen branches or trees on the road.

SCC Highways teams will be ready to respond to any issues throughout the night and into the morning and ask people to bear with them if they do need to respond to incidents.

Drivers should avoid flooded parts of the road as they may be deeper than they appear.

Strong winds and rain is expected to continue over the few days and people are advised to check local forecasts.
